If anyone else is interested, let me know your booking details and I will see if it is possible to obtain any more upgraded tickets. Numbered seats cost an extra £60 and poltrone seats an extra £80.
Kind regards,

I am also flying from Birmingham and told that the flight is to Milan. That is not a problem for me as long as have transfers. Look forward to meeting you at the airport Nicola. This will be my first holiday alone but I am used to traveling alone.

Thanks for your message. Before answering Jayne, I spoke to a colleague in the department that puts together our holidays and was assured that opera ticket upgrades weren't available for this tour, so I think the most likely explanation is that we used to offer ticket upgrades but don't any more.
But could you send me your details, including your booking ref (I won't publish them on the site)? I will then look into it.
I'm now a bit confused by your reply to Jayne below and I wonder if you could clarify? I'm booked on the Opera departure to Garda in June 09 and was offered an upgrade to numbered seats for the opera at booking, which I opted for, and shows on my booking confirmation. Has there been a change on the upgrade possibility since then? Or maybe you can only upgrade at the time you book the holiday? I'm not that bothered but would just like to know...to be prepared! I know the view is just as great from the un-numbered stone steps as the numbered seats and I know you can hire seat cushions at the Arena, but I may pack an extra inflatable cushion if I'm going to be on the stone steps for the duration of Aida, which is 4 hours, plus getting there early!!
To Jayne and Brian, I look forward to meeting you on this trip - it sounds fabulous. I'm off to Thailand with JY in February, which will be my 3rd with JY and I have nothing but praise for their holidays.
Regards,
Nicola.
I'm also going to Lake Garda at the end of June. And would be interested in upgrading the seats. Let me know what you are doing. Look forward to seeing you there.
Brian
We don't offer ticket upgrades for the Verona Opera Festival as the standard seats do offer a perfectly good view. The only real difference is that you will need to be seated earlier, but many of our customers want to savour the atmosphere in the build-up to the performance.
